I've had an amazing pleasure of being featured on a fashion blog called Roses and Poses by a young, beautiful, artistic, lady photographer called Lebogang BuBu who so happens to be a good friend of mine. National Women's Day is a South African public holiday celebrated annually on the 9 th of August. The significance of this holiday is to draw attention to the issues and social challenges faced by women on a daily basis. These issues include domestic violence, femicides, sexual harassment, sexual assault, female education and etc, m any South Africa women have dedicated this day to help increase understanding and protest against these inhumane despicable acts against women. After reading I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT A DREAM I was reminded of two powerful quotes by Robin Sharma. · “My love for books is what saved me.” · “It’s not what you will get out of the books that is so enriching – it is what the books will get out of you that will ultimately change your life”. For me this book is a detailed version of what Robin Sharma was talking about in those two quotes. The writing is amazing, it's unpretentious, lucid and poignant, I really enjoyed it and the story-line is astounding and relatable. The Robertson’s, the other families that took him in, his friends and every single person who helped him, I sincerely believe that was God extending a helping hand to him.
